The Gobi Desert receives about 7.6 inches of rainfall annually. The desert will almost always be dry except for the few occasions when it rains. The Gobi will also usually have some frost and snow covering the tops of sand dunes. The most rainfall it will get in a year usually happens during July, which is 1.1 inches of rain. It will get no rain during January, February, and December, so during winter in the Gobi, there will be a possibility of a few drops of rain but not very likely.
